All rates are indicative — your actual rate depends on card mix, industry, and chargeback history
Final pricing is determined after a free fee audit that analyzes your actual transaction data. Merchants with clean chargeback history and a high debit card mix typically receive lower-than-listed rates. Merchants in specific high-risk categories may have adjustments.

Understanding Interchange-Plus Pricing
Interchange-plus (IC+) is the gold standard for high-volume merchant pricing because it's the most transparent and typically the most cost-effective pricing model at scale. Here's exactly how it works:
Every card payment you accept generates an interchange fee paid to the cardholder's issuing bank. These rates are published by Visa and Mastercard and vary by card type — there are over 300 interchange categories. A basic Visa debit card might cost 0.05% + $0.22. An American Express Gold card might cost 2.5% + $0.10.
On IC+ pricing, you pay the exact interchange rate for each transaction, plus GetPayment's fixed markup (e.g., 0.30% + $0.15). This means you benefit directly when customers pay with low-interchange cards, and you pay appropriately more when they use premium rewards cards.
On flat-rate pricing (Stripe's 2.9%), the processor charges the same rate regardless of card type — which means they profit significantly on low-interchange transactions. At high volumes, this cross-subsidy is worth thousands per month to the processor, not you.
When IC+ Makes Sense
IC+ pricing typically makes sense at $50k+/month. Below this, the administrative overhead and rate variability may outweigh the savings. Our free fee audit calculates whether IC+ will save you money given your specific card mix.
Flat-Rate vs. IC+ Comparison
*Stripe's standard 2.9% + additional 1.5% for international cards = 4.4% effective. IC+ rates are indicative blended estimates; actual rates vary by card category.
